Hey, guys! Today, I'm going to show you how to make a duct tape apron...
The materials you'll need to make a duct tape apron are:
- a couple of yardsticks
- a roll of your favorite color of duct tape
- a pair of scissors
- and a magic marker
The first step is to make a gigantic
sheet of duct tape that is 32 inches by 22 inches. The next step is to place your yardsticks at 90 degrees to one another on top of your duct tape sheet, which is situated lengthwise, so as to form a 7" x 7" square in one of the upper corners of the sheet. Then take your marker and trace the square formed, being sure to round the corner of the square where the yardsticks meet (1:21). Form and trace the same 7" x 7" square in the other top corner of the duct tape sheet. Move your yardsticks to the side (and off of your sheet), grab your scissors, and cut out both sheet corners along each of the curved lines. The cutout areas of the sheet are where your armpits are going to be...
The next step is to take the 2 corner pieces that you cut off, and place them symmetrically (to one another) in the center of the sheet. Take your duck tape roll, and tape down three of the four sides of each piece. These pieces will be the apron pockets. And, ideally, they will be about the size of a duct tape roll.
Now you want to cut out a length of duct tape of about 20" from the roll. Then you'll want to fold it almost in half, leaving only a thin strip of the sticky side of the tape bare. Then fold the thin sticky strip section over ("closing" the duct tape piece, in effect). This is your neck piece. Loop it, and tape down each end of the piece to a different end on the sheet's top edge (from which the two corners were cut). Now the apron is ready to hang around your neck...
The next step is to rip off another two lengths of tape, 20" each, from your roll. Do the same thing to each of these pieces that you did to your neck piece (fold it almost in half, etc.). Then, at roughly the vertical level of the sheet where the pockets are, tape an end of one of the new 20" pieces to a side edge of the sheet, and an end of the other piece to the sheet's opposite side edge. And that will complete your apron. Now you have your very own duct tape apron...
