Mini Uzi Gun Tutorial, Part III

This is part 3 of the mini Uzi tutorial. Can you see the gun (0:06)? We left off, on part 2, with the narrow tube that slides into the topmost gun tube and covers the top hole. Now we're going to be making the aiming system. First, we're going to take the narrow tube out of the Uzi...

Take a new piece of paper or scrap piece of paper, and cut out a square about one-and-a-half inches long and wide, like that (0:39). Fold it in half; this will be one part of the aiming system. Tape the folded piece closed, along the length of the open side. Lop off a quarter-of-an-inch section from each end of the folded (now) rectangle. Starting from the fold edge, you're going to cut into this smaller square/rectangle: you're going to cut out the mid-section on the fold half (not the taped half) of this semi-closed piece, leaving a blocky U-shape. Like so...(1:27).

Now that you have this U-shape, you're going to tape this thing on the lip of one end of the narrow tube, like that (2:07). Put the tube into your Uzi again (uppermost gun tube), allowing the U-shape to pop through the hole in the top of the gun.; the U should be right at the front edge of the hole, like this (2:23). Now you can pull (back) on the U, sliding the inner narrow tube back. And you have the extra narrow-tube length (jutting out behind the gun) to blow through.

Now take that sheet of paper you just cut the square out of, and fold one section of it over the rest (it really doesn't matter whether the section is one-third, one-half, etc). Where the paper is doubled up, cut out a one-by-one-half-inch shape that is half of a long oval (i.e., a shape bordered by one straight side and a parabola), starting at the folded edge, like that (3:05). Tape the new piece, because - as you can see - it opens up, so just tape the open ends together. Now you have that (3:27). Do another (semi-oval shape): it doesn't have to be the same exact thing, just try to get it somewhat close. And tape again. You (now) have these 2 things (3:55). I just need to trim one because it's bigger than the other one...

What you want to do is take the sheet of paper again - we'll be using this paper alot - and cut a three-by-half-inch strip off of a (non-doubled-up) edge. Now roll this strip into a half-inch-long small tube, it'll be part of your aiming thing. Tape the little tube shut. Once it's taped, you'll have a tube like that (4:58). Remember the 2 long semi-ovals you just made? You're going to tape one semi-oval shape onto a curved side of the small tube, and then the other semi-oval onto the tube exactly opposite the first one, parallel to the first and pointing in the same direction. When you're done,  they'll look like so (5:16). Trim the tube so that its length is no longer than the width of one of the semi-oval shapes.

Now what you're going to do is tape this part that you just made onto your Uzi, somewhere on top near the back edge (behind the hole). Make sure it's centered on the midline of the gun, and lined up with your other aimer (the U-shape), because that would help a lot if it is. Now your gun is complete. Here's the final product (7:03)...

I'm just going to teach you how to make a bullet. It's really simple - just take a sheet of paper, or a scrap, and cut out a 4X4 square. There are many ways of making these paper bullets; this way is very simple...Start at one of the square's angles, and just keep rolling the square up until you use up all of your paper and have a cone. Tape the cone (closed), and now you have this (8:02): it looks kind of weird. Now you take your dart (cone) and stick it in the topmost tube in the front of your Uzi (pointed-side in). Just lop off the part of the cone that hangs out of the tube. Now you have your dart, and I'll just give it a test...

I'm sorry that my Uzi gun did not turn out right. I'll just have to make some adjustments to it. Your gun might turn out like that also - I don't know - maybe because it's the first paper gun you've made. Usually this doesn't happen with me, it's kind of weird. So that will be it for the mini Uzi tutorial. I hope it helped most of you guys with any paper guns that you need...
