Procession of Supplies
Materials needed:
- toilet paper roll
- bond paper
- glue
- packaging tape (or Scotch tape)
- scissors
- glue gun
- thick spare cardboard
Today we're going to make a graduation cap using tissue paper roll. So you should use a Barbie doll for measuring the head size. When I put the toilet roll on the Barbie's head, the roll seems too big, but we're going to make it smaller. How? Using a pair of scissors and a pencil.
Commencement of Barbie Doll Accessory
First take your pencil and sketch a straight line down the side of the toilet roll. Now cut it straight...So the toilet paper roll is now cut in a straight line. Take your Barbie doll to measure the size of the graduation cap on her head. When you get the size that you want on Barbie's head, you mark the side of the toilet roll where you want it to close...
Conference of Graduating Cap
Well, the toilet paper roll won't dry (where glue was applied to close it), I don't know why. It's a problem, not good. So I'll be using tape for it. Put some on the outside of the roll. Once again, we measure the size of the closed paper roll on the Barbie doll's head by putting it on her. Then mark the roll at the level/height we want to trim it...I wound up having a little trouble marking a straight line around the toilet paper roll. But I think the roll piece will be straight when it's cut out. Maybe I should have some trust in myself, so I'm just going to cut it...
Ceremonial Cardboard Wrapping
For the top of the graduation cap base (the cut tissue roll piece), I found some thick "junky" cardboard that I align with it. Make a complete square out of the cardboard, then glue the 2 pieces together. But before gluing, I'm going to wrap the square with paper...Now that I'm done wrapping my graduation cap top, the next thing I'm going to do is wrap the base (toilet paper roll piece) with blank paper also.
It's all academic...
So there's the bottom and the top of your graduation cap. Now you glue up the top and the base. I used a glue gun instead of (regular) glue, because glue would just make your hands wet and sticky...
Now your Barbie doll graduation cap is ready. Thanks for reading!
