Hi, I'm Brianna, and today I'm going to teach you how to make chocolate marshmallow pilgrim hats. What you'll need is:
- a jumbo pack of (Kraft) Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
- a package of (Keebler) Fudge Stripes Cookies
- chocolate chips
- a tube of yellow decorator's icing
OK, so let's get started...
1. First, what you're going to want to do is take the cookies and place them face down, well-spaced apart, on a tray covered with wax paper (1:03).
2. After you do that, take your chocolate chips and put them in a microwaveable bowl. Then put them in the microwave, and set it for about 1 minute. The chips probably won't be completely melted by one minute. So, what you should do is put them in for a minute, then, if they're not completely melted, stir them around a little bit, and put the bowl back in (the microwave) for another minute or 30 seconds or somewhere around that. Then keep repeating that until the chocolate is melted.
3. Once you've melted the chocolate in the bowl, take a marshmallow and stick a toothpick in it. Then kind of mix it around in the chocolate until it's pretty much covered with it. You may have to take the toothpick out and stick it into the other side of the marshmallow. Kind of flip the marshmallow around until it's coated.
4. Now, take your chocolate-covered marshmallow and place it (dead center) atop one of the fudge stripes cookies. Then take another toothpick and use it to gently slide the first one out of the chocolate marshmallow. And then you'll have a hat (2:20).
5. When you've covered all your pilgrim hats with chocolate marshmallows, put them in the refrigerator.
6. We left them in the refrigerator for about 25 minutes and now they're hardened. Let's go put some buckles on them...
7. Now we're ready for the very final step: the buckle. You take your tube of yellow decorator's icing and pick up a pilgrim hat. Now, on the hat, from the bottom (of the chocolate marshmallow), start to draw a square. And there you have your buckle...Just repeat that on every pilgrim hat until they're all finished.
And there you have it, your finished project, just in time for Thanksgiving (3:20). It's a family treat that's not only fun to make, it's delicious to eat...
