    perler beads fused into Pokeball

I choose you, Pokeball bead design...

Today, we're going to do a pokeball or poke ball, however you want to call it. You're going to need four different-colored perler beads: you'll need red, black, white, and gray.

    Pokedex entry 001: CenterofPegboard-asaur

You're going to first take a gray bead and place it in the middle of your (circular) pegboard. Then you're going to take 2 more (gray) beads to go on either side of it. So you'll have 3 in one row. And you're going to go above that row with 2 more beads...and then 2 more below. Now you'll have a little gray circle (1:09).

Then you're going to take your white perler beads and make a circle around the gray center. Then what we're going to do is take 2 black beads and put one on each side (of the outer white circle), diametrically opposite to one another. And you're going to build a circle (around the white circle) with black beads. Now, where you placed each of your first 2 black beads, you're going to put 3 perler beads in a row extending out, both sides (2:30)...

Now you're going to get red beads and fill out the top of your pegboard (above the center black lines). Make sure they cover the outer pegs of the board. White beads are going to be placed on the bottom half  of the pegboard up to the center. So, for both red and white perler beads, you don't pass the level of the center black bead lines (for each respective color). When you have the top half of the pegboard filled out, you do the bottom half...

Now that you're done filling the board (3:25), you take wax paper and place it on top of the perler beads and pegboard. You're going to get your iron and use it to flatten everything for about 5-10 seconds. Then you're going to feel the beads, and if you see that they're still coming off the pegboard, you apply the iron for 10-20 more seconds. And that should be perfect. I like to cover everything (with the iron) until you can't see any holes in the perler beads. Because then I know the beads are glued together and the pokeball won't break. But, in the front (the other side of the pokeball where the beads are inserted into the pegboard), you still see the holes in the perler beads, which I like...

Once you're done ironing the pokeball, you're going to peel off the wax paper. And you'll have your finished product (4:32)...
